Biography

Zsolt Balog is the harpsichord player – he obtained his diplomas with honours at the Liszt Ferenc University of Music in Budapest, where he was awarded a Doctor of Liberal Arts (DLA) in 2012.
His masters during academy years include Márta Gulyás, Anikó Horváth, András Kemenes and Attila Némethy.

He is winner, awardee and special prize winner of many national and international competitions on both instruments.

In the centre of his interest are the chamber music genres – numerous concerts and radio live recordings preserve the imprints of his performances as a member of different musical ensembles, as well as his activities as an accompanist. As a soloist, in his harpsichord, fortepiano and piano recitals, in addition to the baroque and classical repertoire, he also pays special attention to the promotion of contemporary music.Zsolt Balog has given a great number of premieres and recordings of musical rarities to his credit.

His repertoire ranges from the late Renaissance to contemporary music.
Zsolt Balog is the musical director, editor and contributor of several theatre performances and podium evenings.
